Medivh is a pivotal character in the Warcraft universe, primarily known for his role in the events leading up to the First War. He was the last Guardian of Tirisfal, a champion imbued with immense arcane power to protect Azeroth from the Burning Legion.

Born to Aegwynn, the previous Guardian, and the court conjurer Nielas Aran, Medivh was unknowingly corrupted by the dark titan Sargeras while still in his mother's womb. This planted a seed of darkness within him, influencing his actions later in life.

Upon reaching adulthood, Medivh’s dormant powers awakened, causing a cataclysmic explosion that left him in a coma and killed his father. He eventually awoke, seemingly recovered, but Sargeras' influence continued to fester.

Driven by Sargeras, Medivh opened the Dark Portal, allowing the Orcish Horde to invade Azeroth. He was eventually slain by a group of heroes, including Khadgar and Lothar, who recognized the corruption consuming him.

Years later, Medivh returned in a spectral form, urging alliances between humans, orcs, and night elves to combat the Burning Legion during the Third War. He helped orchestrate the victory at Mount Hyjal, effectively ending his personal burden and departing into legend.
